Hetko Reader
EPUB and FB2 ebooks on Android, read the way you like them.
Finish more books with an Android ebook reader that adapts to you. Import EPUB and FB2 files, tune the typography until long sessions feel easy, keep highlights and notes in one place, and let text to speech carry on when your hands are busy.

What it does
All core features are free. Pro is optional: it removes ads and supports the work.
Read anywhere, offline
EPUB and FB2 open quickly and stay on your device. Import by file picker, folder scan, share sheet, or OPDS download, and resume exactly where you stopped.
Typography you control
Font family, size, weight, line height and letter spacing; paginated or continuous scroll; Eye Comfort, Warm Sepia, OLED Black, Midnight Dusk or your own colours. Saved per book.
Highlights and notes
Multi-colour highlights and underlines, notes attached to passages, bookmarks, a table of contents drawer, and full-text search across the whole book.
Listen with text to speech
System voices in your language, background playback with notification controls, and simple play, pause and skip. Right-to-left text is supported throughout.
A habit you can see
Time, pages and finished books logged by day, week, month or all time. Set a daily page target, keep a streak, and review your most-read titles.
OPDS catalogues
Connect any OPDS catalogue to browse categories, search titles and download straight into your library, with visible progress for every download.

Built for long sessions, not for engagement metrics
There is no feed, no daily nudge to come back, no reason for us to keep you in the app longer than the chapter lasts. The reading tracker exists because it helps people finish books, and you can ignore it entirely.
Found a book that renders badly? Send it over and we will look at it - most formatting bugs get fixed in the next release.
Report a book that renders badly →Questions
The ones we are asked most. Anything else, write to us.
Which file formats are supported?
EPUB (including EPUB 3) and FB2, plus FB2 inside ZIP archives. PDF is not supported: it needs a different reading engine and we would rather do one thing well. MOBI and AZW are not planned.
How do I get my books into the app?
Four ways: pick files directly, scan a folder so new files appear automatically, share a file from another app, or connect an OPDS catalogue and download inside Hetko Reader. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.
A book looks wrong - broken spacing, missing chapters.
Some files carry unusual markup. Send us the book, or the title if you cannot share the file, and we will reproduce it. Formatting fixes usually land in the next release.
What does Pro change?
It removes ads. Every reading, annotation, listening and statistics feature is available without paying, and Pro never takes away something you already had.
Can I move my library and progress to a new phone?
Copy your book files over and re-import them; reading positions, highlights and notes travel in the app backup. Cross-device sync is on the roadmap, not shipped.
